I was driving up Sand Hill Road earlier this week and saw someone riding a cool contraption that looked a bit like a bike but clearly wasn't a bike. As I passed the rider, I checked it out and it read "Elliptigo," so I went home and looked it up online. Turns out it is a new vehicle (not yet on the market) that is a cross between a bike and a elliptical trainer -- thus, Elliptigo. Here's a video of the Elliptigo in action. It's very cool.

I heard a story about this on NPR today. What amazed me was that they didn't reference the Tom Paxton song "Thank You Republic Airlines" in which Paxton sings, "Thank you Republic Airlines for breaking the neck of my guitar." I'm thinking the best bet when traveling with a guitar is to take it as carry on.
