Christine and I were married 13 years ago today ... w00t! To celebrate, we went to Alinea on Saturday night. I had heard quite a bit about this restaurant over the past few months, including reading about it in Wired. As a bonus, we went to chef Achatz's previous restaurant, Trio, for our 10th anniversary.
It was fantastic. I've been lucky enough to hit quite a few nice
tasting menus this year, including Alex in Las Vegas, Charlie Trotter's
and Blackbird here in Chicago. But Alinea was my favorite. Wonderful
wine pairings and a fantastic atmosphere. My favorite dish of the
evening was the Kobe beef with honeydew, cucumber, and lime rocks, but
every course was memorable. Yum!
